Jenny Moeller

Jenny grew up in Moscow, Idaho. She attended the University of Idaho studying Communications. Jenny now resides in Spokane Washington, is happily married to her husband Brad for 28 years, and has two amazing kids, Logan and Regan. Brad and Jenny are Real Estate Brokers and proud owners of Citibrokers. Jenny has been a community activist directly working with organizations regarding abuse issues. She is the founder and Executive Director of Create Your Statement, which she started after recognizing the need for a youth-focused dating abuse prevention program to prevent the cycle of violence. Create Your Statement’s mission is to promote healthy relationships and character development among today’s youth to prevent relationship and dating abuse. In addition, Jenny is a member and partner of the Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition group. Her personal experiences with dating abuse as a teenager along with spending years providing abuse recovery support to domestic violence victims has made her passionate about helping young people discover what it means to have safe and healthy relationships.

 

Felicia Diamond

Felicia Diamond has been in dentistry for nearly 18 years working as a chairside dental assistant, and supervisor, before helping to develop the dental assistant training program with CHAS Health. Her education includes a certificate in Dental Assisting from Spokane Community College, a certificate from the WSU extension in Sustainable Ranching and Farming, and a certificate in Adult Learning from the University of California San Diego. In her free time, she loves spending time with friends, family, and pets.

SESSION 2 & 3: Learn And Earn! Healthcare Apprenticeships In The Modern Age
Apprenticeship opportunities are growing! Learn about dental assisting, medical assisting, and pharmacy technician apprenticeships with CHAS Health. Instructors representing the apprenticeships will be providing students with more information about healthcare career apprenticeships available, what a day in the life is like, and participants will have an opportunity to complete a hands-on activity with instructors.

 

Victoria Sattler

Born in Manila, Philippines, Victoria has a passion for serving her community. After completing her degree in Communications, she immigrated to the US where she spent over 15 years working for a luxury resort training employees in the US and across Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica before relocating to Spokane. Victoria currently works at Spokane Community College as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor to refugees and immigrants while serving as the department’s employment specialist.

You will learn the ABCs of goal setting in this fun, engaging, and interactive class using SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound). We'll use examples to ensure your road map to success gets you to your ultimate destination.

Whether you dream of becoming an astronaut, scientist, teacher, or entrepreneur, this session will take out the guesswork of where to even start. Join us for Dream It, Be It: Turning Visions into SMART Goals—a workshop where your dreams take center stage!

 

Leona Perry

Leona has been the Events & Programs Manager for Greater Spokane Inc. (GSI) for over 2 years. GSI hosts and partners on many events of all sizes. This includes chamber like events to convene the business community, Economic Development focused events, Talent events that connect businesses to educators and provide opportunities for students at all stages, as well as advocacy events to connect the workforce and organizations of the Spokane Region to both State and Federal lawmakers She has over 8 years of experience working in various marketing roles as an independent contractor. She started working in corporate events in 2015 and has planned events for 20 to 12,000 people.
Some of the reasons that Leona enjoys working in the world of events are because she "loves to see people come together for a shared purpose and leave feeling better than when they walked in." She also is a bit type A so organizing event details can be extra rewarding.

Angela Vetch

Angela is the director of laboratory services for Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene. She holds a bachelor of science degree in biology and a masters degree in public health. For the last 17 years, she has worked a variety of roles in different types of laboratories including government/public health, blood banks, and hospitals. Angela is married to her husband Aaron, and her daughter, Mae, is in her third year of Girl Scouts as a Brownie. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, being outdoors, and playing music when she can.

SESSION 2 & 3: Laboratory Careers: Discovering Your Path
Learn about the extensive variety of career options available within laboratories--from hospitals/clinical labs to research, manufacturing, and academic laboratories. There is something for everyone! I'll also share my somewhat wandering career path and lessons learned along the way.

 

Marie E.

Marie has a breadth of experience in both medical and Information Technology. In the beginning of her work life, she worked in many medical offices. The latter part of her career she has worked in higher education. The first few years as an assistant and then ventured into the Information Technology field. She has had many experiences in the work force and has not gained her experience in the most typical way. While she does have some college background, it is not complete. She has paved her own way with the help and assistance of some amazing mentors as well as the ability to continue to learn and grow in this every changing society.

In the vast landscape of IT, proficiency goes beyond the technical. Creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving mindset are keystones, proving that in this dynamic field, diverse skills build the strongest foundations. In the realm of IT, the ability to learn and adapt is your greatest asset. If you can read, you can decipher the language of technology and unlock the doors to endless possibilities.

Kate and Jenna are instructors for Create Your Statement. Kate and Jenna are passionate about educating youth regarding the prevention of dating abuse and instilling the importance of self-worth to all youth they serve.

SESSION 1: Know your value! Learn what a healthy relationship is and how to avoid the dangers of dating violence.
Understanding dating abuse including the different forms and warning signs. Increase your self-esteem, learn how to set boundaries, and apply respect in your everyday life.

 

Becky McGinty

Becky is currently the owner of Committed Accounting Services
LLC. As the wife of a retired military veteran, she has traveled extensively and enjoyed living in many diverse communities. The mother of three grown children and 7 grandchildren, Becky understands that discovering your dreams and passions while trying to navigate those towards a career path can be daunting.

As a Soroptimist for the last 15 years, Becky has dedicated many volunteer hours to the Soroptimist mission to transform the lives of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.

SESSION 1: Dream It Be It - Career Support for Girls
The Dream It, Be It curriculum gives girls skills they need to live their dreams. Not all girls will know what they want to do for the rest of their lives, so the skills girls develop can be applied to any goals girls identify in the future.

 

Kelly Brown

Kelly Brown, a dedicated Spokane resident of 8 years, has developed a profound connection with the community and its people, cultivating a deep love for her surroundings. Immersing herself fully in the place she holds dear, Kelly has committed her time as a full-time volunteer for The Friends of Manito, contributing to the success of events like The Manito Park Holiday Lights and The Manito Park Art Festival. Her passion and impact on Manito Park have led to her current role as the organization's Executive Director, where she continues to strive for positive change in the region's crown jewel.

In addition to her role with The Friends of Manito, Kelly also serves as the Program Coordinator for Spokane's 50th-anniversary celebration of Expo '74. Ever ready to lend a hand to her community, she volunteers for causes she genuinely cares about. Beyond her involvement with The Friends of Manito, Kelly holds key roles such as founding board member for The Friends of Riverfront Park, chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee of The Spokane Park Board, and active board member for Girls on The Run of Spokane County. She also provides support to the Wishing Star Foundation as a member of the advisory board and contributes to the alumni committee for Leadership Spokane, having graduated in 2023.

SESSION 3 : Overcoming Obstacles, Nurturing Connections, and Growing for a Radiant Tomorrow
In this empowering breakout session, Girl Scouts will embark on a journey to identify perceived obstacles hindering their growth. Led by Kelly Brown, participants will discover strategies to overcome these challenges by fostering community, embracing love, grace, and service. Together, they will cultivate strength, positivity, and a deeper sense of connection, ensuring they grow stronger as individuals and as a united community.

 

Hannah Henry

Hannah Henry is a Human Resources professional who is passionate about leading women into the Next Generation. She has a bachelor's from University of Houston in human development and a master's degree in organizational leadership from Colorado State University. Hannah has 8 years of Human Resources experience along with two beautiful children and a supportive spouse. Love horseback riding, hiking, rollerblading, and cycling. Hannah has worked very hard in the Human Resources profession and is now a successful HR Manager at a wonderful company.

SESSION 1 & 2: Apology Speak is Everywhere, Learn How to Speak with Confidence
Women apologize all the time for things that we don't need to apologize for. This Workshop will discuss how to take control of how we talk personally and professionally without apologizing for everything. We're conditioned to apologize for everything we do. Come to my workshop I'm learning a few tricks of how to take control of how you talk to demand respect.

 

Gina Giesseman/Emily Shields/Darby Tobosa

Gina Giesseman is the Director of Partner Services and Promotions with the Spokane Indians Baseball Team. Originally from California, Gina grew up a Los Angeles Dodgers fan and worked for the Dodgers during the 2017 Season. Shortly after, she moved to the Spokane Area and started working with the Indians in 2018. She has found her dream job working in sports marketing/promotions and loves to give back to the Spokane community. In her free time, she loves going to the movies, seeing broadways shows, and attending concerts.

Emily Shields, a native of Gig Harbor, Washington, graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Public Relations. During her time at GU she worked at the on campus fitness center helping to run the school's intramural program and was a student manager for the women's basketball team. Emily interned with the Spokane Indians Baseball Team in 2021 before transitioning to a full-time role as Partner Services Coordinator. In her current role, she works with the partnerships team on various community campaigns, using the team's social impact to create meaningful relationships within the community. Outside of work, she finds joy in spending time outdoors, playing games, and enjoying summers at the lake with her family and friends.

Darby Tobosa is the Director of Hospitality & Group Tickets with the Spokane Indians. She grew up in Spokane and as a young fan at Avista Stadium. After graduating from Washington State University, Darby started with the Spokane Indians in 2015 and will be celebrating her 10th season with the team this year! Her favorite part of her job is working with great people and meeting the fans at the ballpark and in the community. She also enjoys playing with her dogs, going to movies, dancing, and playing board games with her husband & friends.

SESSION 3: Growing Your Community Through Baseball and Beyond!
They might love baseball, but they love their community more! Chat with three gals from the Spokane Indians Baseball front office team and learn how they like to give back to their community through baseball. They will walk you through some of their favorite community campaigns. Get ready to put YOUR jersey design skills to the test! #GoSpo

 

Josephine Ortega

Josephine is a recent Girl Scout grad. Throughout high school she was not only active in cookie sales but also programs such as Youth Leadership Spokane and the Spokane Lilac Association. Within her senior year she was crowned as the 2023 Lilac Queen and became an ambassador for her city. She is currently attending Gonzaga University earning a Music Education major. Outside of school she spends her days outdoors or making music.

SESSION 3: Transitioning from Crown to College

Embarking on the journey from high school to college is a significant milestone that brings both excitement and challenges. In this engaging conference session, we will delve into the intricacies of transitioning to college life. Plus a crash course in the journey to becoming the Lilac Queen and how these skills can benefit you in the long run.
